Effects of ual harment on the victim can be devastating. In the workplace, decreased performance can result from being ually hared by another employee. It can also cause the victim to be continuously absent from his/her job. In an educational setting, a student may be forced to change his/her academic plans due to ual harment incidents. A victim of ual harment may feel humiliated by public gossip about their allegations. Trusting people becomes a major issue for these victims and may result in them isolating themselves from others. Psychological effects may result from ual harment and may include self-blame, suicidal thoughts, and loss of self-esteem.
