Algal bloom in phosphate-polluted lakes results from?

The phosphate stimulates growth and reproduction of plant to the extent that there is over population. When over population occurs the plant begin to die in great numbers the dead bodies of the algae decompose and use tremendous amount of oxygen in the water. This results in low oxygen content in the water and the algae death is followed by fish kills.
