Is this a good way to ask a guy to sadies?

I want to know your opinions on this. I've liked this guy for a while now and i knowe he used to like me but im not sure now. But we only have one cl together and i really dont want to ask him in french cl because alot of his friends arein there. Is it ok if i were to get a texting conversation with him and ask him in a text? what do you think?
